The eyepiece racks are constructed of eighth inch thick 6061 aluminum (very hard and will not bend) and epoxy powder-coated in a stunning dark blue. The epoxy powder-coat finish is absolutely beautiful and is indestructible. Dark Sky offers two different models> 1.25” and 2”. Each model holds seven eyepieces. If one rack does not hold enough eyepieces for you, mount two! The racks mount on or off in a second, and the only tools you need are your fingers. These racks mount at the perfect height for convenience so there is no struggling or stretching for that much needed eyepiece or barlow.

The pictures below illustrate how easy the Dark Sky eyepiece racks install.

Spreader bar must be secure before installation of eyepiece rack.

Slide the washer onto the thumbscrew and start the wing nut on it.
Then insert the thumbscrew up through the hole in the spreader bar of the tripod with the washer and the wing nut on the bottom.
Slide the slot of the rack around the thumbscrew on the top of the spreader bar.
Tighten the wing nut on the bottom until it is secure.
Dark Sky eyepiece racks can be installed and removed in a second!
